Fourah Bay College, founded in 1827, is recognized as the most influential institution in the spread of university level education in Africa.
Our sweatshirt pays homage to the creation of the university at a time when many questioned the intellectual abilities of Blacks, and honors the impact the institution had on the African continent.
Fourah Bay College graduates from the 20th century went on to become prominent figures in the anti-colonial political movement, as well as politicians in the newly independent African States. As a result, Sierra Leone became known as the “Athens of West Africa”.
The Fourah Bay College Crewneck is composed of high quality cotton which gives it a smooth finish, and allows it to maintain its luxurious feel after multiple washes.
